Mini Company,Art and Mullingar!

On Monday 21st of Mini Company's, my team's product was 'iBrow' an eyebrow kit. It consisted of January we had our Mini Company competition in the school. The kit consisted of eyebrow stencils, eyebrow filler and a tweezers.Every team had to make a presentation for there product and describe there product to the judges. There was 3 prizes for each class, unfortunately our team didn't win anything.Four teams were shortlisted from our school.

In art we have started making our images out of the string in casette tapes. We firstly printed a picture of them and turned it black and white. We then roughly sketched the picture onto a white A3 page.I just started sticking the casette tape string down onto my page on Tuesday. It is looking good soo far!

On Tuesday 29th of January we went to Mullingar for The Briery Gap Drama competition. Our drama was about 'The effects of war' written by a girl in our class.I was playing the part of one of the soldiers. To settle our nerves and fill us up we all went to McDonalds for some food and then walked around the town as we had 2 hours before we were on stage. When we returned from McDonalds we decided to practice each of our plays just so no mistakes were made! My group was the first up to perform. It went really well and no mistakes were made and the Judge gave us positive feedback.

A new year..same old me:)

I don't blog that much because i've been very busy outside of school with my sports and I feel it is more important to me than blogging, and I don't particularly like blogging either haha..
I'm in a rant mood..
Last week was our first week back in school, I do like school but in all fairness i'd rather be doing sports than learning. I don't think we do enough sport related thing's in Transition Year. Doing sports can help people who stress about tests and girl should be influenced to do some sort of sport because the statistics are really bad about girls and keeping fit and healthy.

On Wednesday we started in our new 8 week work experience placement. I am doing mine in The Credit Union in Celbridge:)
I tried to get Croke Park for my 3rd placement but they have no vacancies left and i'm really dissappointed because that is something I am interested in doing when i'm older.I am going to try and get a placement within the F.A.I or The Aviva Stadium but I would say that would be hard to get too.

On Thursday we went to the Young Scientist Exhibition in The Rds, I am not a fan of Science at all and didn't really find anything interesting. The only thing I liked was the pizza I got outside in the food stall. But when your with friends it makes everything better..

It's a new year, so that means 6 months till Summer holidays, I can't wait I love Summer and can't wait to go on holidays..

December fun....

Haven't blogged in a long while, been soo busy with school projects and been soccer training 2 or 3 times a week because were preparing for our Leinster and All Ireland cups:)

Week of 10th December:
Last week we had our Geography project due as well as our English essay which is worth 50% of our Christmas test grade. On Friday we went to a Ballet Show in Dun Laoighre. I'm not really into ballet but I really enjoyed it.

Week of 17th December: On Monday we watched loads of movies in our classes and listened to Christmas Music. On Tuesday we had our Religion,English and French tests they all went really well. On Wednesday we had Maths and Irish which I think went really well too hopefully I get good results.Wednesday was our last proper day in school.Today(Thursday) class Cairdeas held a Christmas party in the library and we all received our Cris Kindle presents. We then went bowling in K-Bowl and onto WhiteWater shopping centre to have lunch.

We are now finished school for 2 weeks for Christmas Holidays. It's only 4 days till Christmas and I can't wait :D HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Tuesday 30 October 2012

Yesterday I went to Dcu on a camogie trip and a tour of the premises. We got the bus down at 9:00. We did some drills and played a few matches against other school teams.DCU supplied us with a packed lunch and while we were eating our lunch Michael Murphy(Donegal Footballer) and Paul Flynn(Dublin Footballer) came in to say Hi and to take pictures.I got a picture with Paul Flynn as i'm a Dublin supporter and have met him previously but didn't get a photo.I love sport and I am interested in a future career in sports or fitness and I think DCU provides the facilities and courses I would be interested in.
We all had a really enjoyable day and thanks to Mr.L for organising the day:)

Fun Walk,Projects and Sport

Last Friday the school held the annual 'Fun Walk'. Each year had it's own colour:

First Years:Pink
Second Years:Purple
3rd Years:Green
4th Years(Ty):Yellow
5th Years:Blue
6th Years:Black and White

The theme of the funwalk was friendship.

Our year (Ty) had Yellow. We dressed up as Lego Blocks as they connect together. We made up a dance to the song 'Hey Ya'. The day went very well and I think our routine was better out of the three classes. Our class had to stand at each crossing point to direct the students across the road.I was with Shannon and Mr.W at cross point 3.

Unfortunately, we didn't win out of the Transition Year classes..Class Cinealtas won but I think our class should of won;)

This week has gone so slow and the projects are mounting up on us. I now have an English,Maths,Geography and Irish project to do. I finished my Maths and Irish. I am now in the process of finishing my English and Geography to follow that.

I'm on the school gaelic team and i'm looking forward to our matches throughout the year.

... and so it begins

Transition year has definitely begun. This week felt as if we had known each other for years everybody's getting on soo well. We got our theme and colour for the fun walk next Friday. The theme is 'Friendship' for Anti-Bullying Week and our colour is yellow. We decided to be Lego blocks because they get connected together to build an item which is a sign of unity. We are all very excited for the Fun Walk and it is always a great day!
I can't wait for it too:)

Trip to Carlingford

Well we have just returned from Carlingford, it was amazing! We did soo many different activities and had soo many fun times bonding with people we didn't speak to as much before.

We traveled down on Monday morning by coach and everybody was soo excited and couldn't wait to arrive. When we got there we were split into two groups and had our first activities and my groups was 'water activities' we went kayaking followed by pier jumping which was very fun.

Our second activity after lunch was high ropes and the zorbing which was my favourite activity of the day! Then our final activity of the day was walking through a forest blindfolded while following a rope which was scary and Mr.K soaked us with his bottle of water!

We then stayed overnight and I stayed in a room with 5 others:) Our first activity of the second day was challenges this consisted of alot of different fun challenges to figure out and for completing these challenges we received gems our team ended up in last place with 10 gems. Our second and final activity was laser shooting in the forest which was by far my favourite activity of the trip.

We all had a brilliant time and i'd like to thank the teachers from our school that organised it and would say it was probably the highlight of TY so far:) The picture below is of us completing one of our challenges:)
